Why do you ask for an (alternate) email address to sign-up?
We ask for an email address, or alternate address, to create an account and use our services. Why, you ask?

-We need it to keep in touch with you about your services with us! No conspiracy there.
-And; we do it to reduce SPAM, "fake accounts" and/or those who would want to use our services with mal-intent. All new accounts are required to click a verification link sent your email before the your account is active. We know this isn't a strong or necessarily reliable way of verification, but it is a step we take. If we feel or detect an account may be spam, we may ask for a different email address or other verification.
